Thomas W. "Wolfie" Wolfarth was 42 years old and lived in Havertown, PA. He was a dedicated paramedic and flight medic.Tom died on June 22, 2009 after a long battle with brain cancer.

Wolfie was born in Pittsburg and later moved to Montgomery County. He  graduated from Conestoga High School in 1986. After many days of fun, Wolfie found his true calling. He and his brother George followed the same path into the world of paramedics.

In his early days Wolfie was  employed as an EMT for a private ambulance company in Guthriesville and as a paramedic for Haverford Township, Chester County Hospital, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, and Springfield Hospital, where he was the Director of Paramedics.

In 2006, Wolfie was asked to join Delaware County Memorial Hospital as Chief of Paramedics. At DCMH Wolfie was responsible for major changes in the department and the county.

As a Flight Medic for Penn Star Wolfie made many friends. He was considered a mentor for new medics. He participated in many educational classes and clinics.

Wolfie was a member of the Delaware County Emergency Services Committee and received numerous awards for his work, including a commendation from the Philadelphia Fire Department for helping to rescue a worker who got trapped in a trench in October 2001 and a heroism award from West Goshen Township for using CPR to save the life of a resident in May 2000.

Anyone that knew Wolfie, knew his love of life. He loved fast cars and going on long rides with his boys on his motorcycle. He liked to watch baseball, especially the Phillies and his favorite player Jimmy Rollins. Wolfie loved to watch football and college basketball.

In addition to working on cars and bikes, his hobbies included working out, spending time with his family, walks on the beach, reading, hiking, cooking, jazz and blues music, and relaxing with a good red wine, a glass of Jack, Crown Royal and a cigar. Most of all, Wolfie loved to laugh. No one will every forget his bright eyes and beautiful smile. He simply loved a good time and was the life of any party.

Wolfie had a way of making everyone around him feel special. He was known for his positive disposition regardless of circumstances and an ever-present smile.

To know Wolfie and call him "friend" meant you had a friend for life.

Wolfie is remembered and loved by his daughter, Allison; his love, Mary Agnes; his parents, Ted and Ruth; brothers, David (Diane), Ron (Tracy), and George (Janet); sister, Maryanne (Frank); and his nephews R.J., Ian and Trista and his niece, Nicki.
